Flops n' Fizzles

Gooood lazy Superbowl Sunday my glamour gals! I am boycotting the Superbowl game today since I'm not a fan of either team and feel my team (Seahawks) got totally ripped OFF! We had that game...but I digress from my anger. Besides I don't have any friends here so didn't her invited to any Super Bowl parties anyway. Lol

So instead I decided to do a blog of my epic failures I recently tried and they fizzled big time!

I am a cosmetologist and even tho I haven't worked in a salon for years I was always taught that taking good care of your scalp and taking vitamin supps and proper nutrition are the ways to get healthy hair!! What a concept since I guess most people don't realized that once the hair is out from under your's dead! Soooo you can't "fix hair" with all these products! You can however make it look healthier with products and shine serums etc but these commercials lately are killing me.

L'Oreal trying to sell a "aging shampoo line" about floored me! Really? Aging?? OMG what will they think of next?

Like that the "Clear" hairline also made my jaw drop! "All these years we've been working at the wrong end of the hair" really? Another palm to forehead moment!

But I was at the store and had to buy something inexpensive to get us thru until payday. I had a great coupon and the store was advertising the "Clear" line so it was pretty inexpensive so I thought I'd give it a whirl...."Big mistake...Huge" (little Pretty woman quote inserted there since it was a HUGE mistake!

I used the product for about 5 days and the smell was awful but what's worse is I started breaking out in these little water blisters on my scalp and they itched. So I'd scratch the dumb thing would pop and then holy scab Batman! My scalp was breaking out in scabs all over and they hurt!!! Water touching my scalp burned! I was soooo mad! I couldn't wash my hair for about a week and that just isn't ok!

I am taking that crap back and also writing the company. I've never had such a awful reaction! So here's your buyers beware...don't waste your money or scalp on this! It's dreadful! That's failure número uno today!

My second flop & failure is the Cetaphil derm control foaming face wash and matching lotion.

After years of wanting to see a dermatologist but had no insurance I finally got ins and had a appointment! I was stoked!!

She said that my Shiseido face wash and daily lotion was a great routine. (BTW I bought them at TJ Maxx for 60% off retail a total score) but I was still breaking out. So she recommended the Cetaphil derm line and told me to come back in 6 weeks!

The medical assistant handed me $5 of coupons so I said heck yeah I'm ready for a total skin transformation since I have been fighting adult acne since my 2nd child was born 14 yrs ago! Don't do it!

Another issue with my skin went thru a huge break out! I was I pain, they burned and throbbed and I seriously looked like someone poured acid on my face!!

If you use them great if it works for you but I you have not tried them and have even semi sensitive skin STAY AWAY!

She will defiantly get an earful in a couple weeks when I come back for my follow up!

Since I went back to my Clarisonic (amaze balls product) and my Shiseido and I'm all clear! Except now I have scaring...oh joy! But no way will you see me ordering the Proactive dark spot crap you see advertised every 5 minutes!! Proactive SUCKS!! And it stinks! Smells like a perm and that can't be good!

There's my rant for the day on that! If you have any questions or comments or would like to see any makeup tips or tricks or just say "Hi" feel free! I can't wait until I start reaching more people and actually get replies and views! Haha

Enjoy your day! I hope it's blessed and your team wins and it's a great game!

Luv n' hugs

My first Birchbox (July 2012)

I recently subscribed to the Birch box monthly boxes. It's $10 a month for a box of samples to regular size lovely different beauty products to try and either fall in love with or not like and not waste money on.

It comes in a cute little box with pink symbols and open it up and it has a card that explains what's inside and how much the price of the product is full price.

First product I pulled out was product from Ada Cosmetics. It's a very slightly shimmery mineral powder bronzer.. I swatched it on my arm and my daughters face. It's very pretty!!!

Also recieved Hello from Harvey Prince perfume. It smells so yummy. It's a intoxicating blend of juicy Meyer lemon, white grapefruit, and pink plumeria. Smells super yummy and fresh!

Third product I opened was by Jouer lip Enhancer. It says it gives you a moisturizing punch of balm with a satiny feel of gloss.

Maddi and I tried the Jouer balm and it feels amazing! Makes you lips look so healthy and brings your natural color out! Feels like silk and I will be purchasing this for $14!!

Next is the balm cosmetics in Stainatic in Beauty Queen. It's a sheer gel formula that is perfect stain for your lips and cheeks. It was very pretty and we may purchase this in the future as its $12 full size.

This month they put in two extras. One was a Läbar called über. It was so amazing! It was full of nuts and protein and I loved it! Prolly won't purchase then from Birchbox but from the store for sure.

Last but not least they gave a set of ear buds! They are cute and we always need them around here!!

So for my first month I was pretty impressed! I LOVE getting stuff in the mail but especially beauty products! But also letters and cards and fun stuff!

So to top it all off it was exciting and enjoyable and you can cancel at anytime. I just pay monthly. There are some similar boxes out there but this one was cheapest and had some cool stuff.

Lemme know what ya think and if you do get them or are considering it I'd love to hear from ya.

Great looking nails!

Hi ladies!

Sorry been gone for awhile and I know in blog world that is not good as I need to keep going and going everyday but been going thru some personal stuff. But now I'm single, got my mind back more clearly and ready to partay and do what I love! Speaking with all you ladies and giving my tips and advice as well as getting new tips and tricks to share with you!!

So today I am sharing how to get great lookin summer nails, and Fall, Einter and Spring. Lol

You all need to go get a Sally's beauty card and start shoppin. They have really started carrying great polish like Finger Paints, China Glaze and Setche Vite top and base coat! Setche Vite in $10 at Target and some other stores. At Sally's they have it on sale all the time. Right now it's 2/$10! I have a pro card so that's my everyday price but the last flyer had 2/$7! So it's worth getting a flyer just for great deals.

Finger Paint polish was on sale buy 2 get 1 free. But *tip- you HAVE to watch the receipt and make sure you point out the deals as I have to go back and get another polish they didn't give me the deal and I get to pick a free color. Yay!

Anyway, on to the tip. I have tried every base coat (but the Setche Vite one) but I tried this ridge filler as a base coat and let it dry. Painted my nails with a beautiful mint color and only have one coat which generally do two. But found with this ridge filler it made one coat look gorg. I added the top coat and was amazed at how smooth and pretty it looked! I got the ridge filler for $5.99 and it's a big bottle!

My daughter got a neon pink and her nails look very pretty to!

Well that's my tip today! Glad to be back and have missed all you lovelies! Xoxo make everyday a beauty day! Always wear lipgloss and mascara hugs

What's in my purse makeup bag

I know I have a lot! Hahaha but you should see what I have at home.
So I have some random things. My bag is from WalmMart it's clear and sturdy and hold a lot! I have Evian facial spray , love it!! A blush brush, and a sephora eyeshadow brush. Two Max lips sticks in Lustre viva glam and hello kitty in cutester! Searched Viva Glam.

Then I have a mascara, not a big fan of but it's Loreal Telescopic in carbon black. A smokey eye quad in bone, frappe, toffee metallic and espresso from Bobbi Brown! Love her!

A 4 pack of Colgate wisps these are awesome when your teeth feel fuzzy or ya just feel like you might have funky breath! Love them and they are heel!

I bought this Degree body spray jn honeysuckle and tea tree oil. Smells so good! I get the weirdest looks from my mom and Maddi when u whip out the Evian face spray, then the degree body spray, followed by my MAC lip conditioner (also in my bag) and my EOS melon lotion. They ask me are you done taking your second shower for the day? I say nope just into smelling good and feeling soft so there! :P

On to more goodies, I carry a sight savers wipe or three for when I wear my glasses. Btw How do they get dirty and smudged when u know you haven't touched them? Biggest pet peeve.

Boscia green tea blotting liners. Love them!
A teeny Vaseline for your lips so cute had to have it and of course I have to use a wet wipe or hand sanitizer before I put my finger in there...germs manifest ladies! ;)

A Laura Mercier metallic creme eye color in platinum. Oh love this had it forever! Use alone or as a base or on the lid with a nice crease color! This color is awesomeness!! 😍

Next my pink leopard bronzing powder by Too Faced (one of my fav makeup lines and love the name cuz come one how many Too faces girls do you know?) lol it is gorgeous on! Has some pink and brown and u can use as blush or bronzer or both! It's my fav! Second fav is Nars Laguna bronzer but that's for a different time and review.

Then a Stila lip glaze in guava. (swatched it)
hmmm looks really orange but it's so not it's a very pretty pink similar to the MAC lipstick I swatched.

Next I have three files. Idk why three. One is the metal kind. I do love these they make gangly fangly nails smooth fast. And the end is pointy so u can use it as a weapon or self defense if you need it, lol no but it gets gunk from under your nails. Again use a wet wipe...before and after. Ewe
Then a ref file and one thats in a file catty. Totally cute! Think I got that one at Ulta. I love it for the pure sanitation part of it having its own case. Now did you know you can spritz your nail files with running alcohol? Mmmhmm oh yeah sista, keep those clean girl!

Final 5 I told you this holds a lot and I'll stuff it but there is still room and it's not that big of a bag but I carry a good size Michael Kors bag I Looovveee it! So it is fine.

I carry Makeup Forever mat Velvet + hmm in idk what color. That's a bummer but I'm sure they can match it at my teeny tiny Sephora inside JC Penney. Off subject here but I'm telling you how much I'm lost without my big stores like sephora, Nordstom, Macy's its awful! I'm from Seattle and moving to Calabash, NC no Whole Foods or Trader joes's man totally stab me in the heart why don't ya?? NE way it's a great foundation not a total in love product but it's great for on the go but my issue is I have to blend for too long! Lol lazy, actually no it that I don't have my own set of Sigma brushes and when I get the flat top kabuki I won't have this issue! Can't WAIT!

Next, this NYX pigment is so flippin pretty!! I was bored at the dr office the other day so while we were waiting for him to come in (since I just had surgery so this is why I have been MIA for a couple weeks sorry) I did moms's makeup. Haha so she doesn't need foundation and is way darker than me anyway (faker baker) so I used the paint pot in morning frost, and then topped it with the NyX ultra pearl pigment! It was stunning! Used the Loreal mascara, gave it to her, and the bronzer and the MAC lip color I swatched and it was very pretty!
NYX is a great line and very inexpensive. I think I got that t Ulta for about $2.75?

Last three things in my Mary Poppins bag of products! I swear I just keep pulling out more and more haha.

Four hair ties, my hair is getting very long and down here in the heat and humidity you wear your hair in messy buns always! But this juicy one I got from Sephora for like $3 I love!! So cute I wish they'd sell more they are gone now :(

Then this sephora lip nectar shine. Love it. It makes your lips look so kissable and it's not sticky but just plain color just lovely!

And finally...drum roll please...
Benefit high beam. It works ok I'm not a huge fan. Seems if you rub it in you run too much it disappears you run to little u can see a streak. I gotta try it with a synthetic makeup brush see if that does the trick!

Oops, one thing a ma jiggy was hiding from me, little stinker. It's one of my favs! The only YSL product I own sadly! I think it's a good thing because I have a sneaky feeling that I could do some serious damage with their products as well as Chanel and Dior! But anyway this is a great concealer/highlight. Now for lovely black not dark circles are hereditary and get worse when I'm not feeling well or haven't had enough sleep or stressed. Nothing covers then I have tried almost every concealer under the flippin sun! But I recently have been using Bobbi Browns concealer and it's mighty thick, and will use this on top and I'll put it highlight of my cheeks, forehead, down my nose and cupids bow. It's worth the $40 and has lasted me quite some time!

Whew that was long and winded! I'm sorry if ya fell asleep on me...maybe a good read when you wake up at night and can't fall back asleep? Lol

I will do a "what's in my purse" in the next few days, but have a couple requests (one from a dear friend) on eye shadow and what brushes to use since I won't put myself on camera or YouTube (I'm too heavy at the moment) I'm going to use my gorgois daughter as a model. So look for me here I'll post some pics but then will link the YouTube! I've never done YouTube before so this outta be a riot!

Kisses and hugs to all the beauties who took the time to read my winded blog! Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday afternoon and remember always feel pretty, because you are one of a kind and are gorgeous da-ling
Much love

Sigma Paris Palette

Oh my fellow beauty addicts this is one palette you have to add to your collection!

It's the Sigma Paris Palette. Created by 7 YouTube beauty gurus and each were assigned a monument in Paris to be their inspiration for designing a color!

I have to say they are gorgeous! Every single one is unique and full of color and very pigmented! They did an amazing job.

I am now a Sigma affiliate and am proud to back this company up! They are wonderful to order from, fast shipping, curtious and prompt customer service and high quality products for any and every budget!

I have ordered the Miss Bunny set for my daughter last Christmas and she loves them! They never shed, are soft but pick up color with ease. Easy to clean and beautifully made so they look great sitting on your bathroom counter.

Back to the palette. I'll post pics of it. It comes in a very pretty sleeve, all French looking and the case of they palette is so pretty as well. Inside is a nice large mirror, eight eye shadows, two great makeup brushes, 2 blushes and a gorgeous highlight shade for your upper cheeks.

Trust me ladies you won't be disappointed and it's limited edition so you might wanna buy two. I know I'm going to get another one since I have a little makeup thief in my house ;)

Click on my Sigma banner here on the blog and it'll take you right to their site. Comment below if you are already a fan of sigma and or are purchasing!

Have a beauty-ful, makeup filled day dolls!

Coastal Scents

Recently I ordered the Coastal Scents 88 piece shimmery shadow palette and my daughter stole it she loves it so much. The colors are gorgeous, very pigmented and u can create 100's of looks with it!

So since I was so happy with that palette I ordered the 10 piece bluh palette. Again it has ended up in my daughters bathroom...grr but all the colors are gorgeous! They are comparable to MAC blushes in my opinion and have great staying power. Even a couple colors that look too bright or a little dark actually look very nice on.

I see they have some other palettes I'm interested in as well as I really want to try their concealer palette.

The prices are amazingly inexpensive for the quality of the makeup and shipping was very fast.

I highly recommend these products! If you have tried any of the concealer or even their new liners (that's next I'm gonna buy) let me know.

I'm a huge fan of this line and will be doing a tutorial using my daughter as a model tonight.

Check them out you will NOT be disappointed.

Also, don't miss out on the huge sale they are having right now! 30-50% off their most popular palettes! Amazing!!!

Posted below are 88 ultra Shimmer palette And the 10 Blush Palette!

Comment below and let me know if you order and what u think as well as if you are already a fan like me!

Have a beauty-ful day!! ;)
